There are rumours going around that the Golden Seals are continuing to shop around for added depth in scoring positions and defense. The team has reportedly made two offers to different teams, one being the Nordiques. More details to come as we get closer to the deadline on March 8 @ 12pm.

The Jets were seen having a team meeting after their loss to the Nordiques Saturday, leaving most speculating that the team was going over the trade proposals handed over from teams interested in goalie Arran Baird. Rumours have it that the Jets are interested in making a deal with the Nordiques for their 1st and 2nd round picks in next years draft.
Just so everyone is clear on the proposed format for next year, there will be 4 core players per team, with the remaining 4 players having to be chosen for the draft. Depending on fallout from meetings in March and April, there will be no option to have a 5 player core. Details to follow.

The latest injury report has Blazers captain Jens Cuthbert sidelined with a lower body injury. As first reported by bchl.8m.com, Cuthbert sustained the injury in last weeks win vs the Whalers. Cuthbert is listed as day to day, but is likely out for at least another week.

BREAKING NEWS!!! Just as the Sabres are starting to play their best hockey of the season, they have learned that one of their top players will be out for a significant amount of time. Lucas Besth has been sidelined with what the team is calling a lower body injury at the moment. It is not yet known how Bets hhas suffered the injury.
Besth, who has played well this season, with 10 points in 3 games, will be missed on a team that is not very deep in the offensive production category. Perhaps this injury note will prompt the Sabres to acquire a scorer come trade deadline time. More information to come as we will follow the situation closely.

Mr. Sundar thanks for the updates and keeping everyone on top of the news. It is much appreciated.
Rumor has it the Jets are leaning towards a deal with the Nordiques to move goaltender Arran Baird. A source close to the Jets says the players will meet again following the conclusion of tonight's game versus the Whalers.
Spoke to Hayden O'Neal earlier this week regarding the status of forward Pat Dennis. He admitted teams have been interested in the big forward. He says offers were received from the Nordiques and Golden Seals, but the team isn't interested in moving the forward at this time.

The North Stars have officially claimed F Jordan Carino off waivers. Carino will be in the lineup on Saturday, as the North Stars are now eligible to bring a maximum of 8 players to each game from here on in until the rest of the season.

Great questions, happy to answer. The format for the league is that no team can carry more tha n7 players on a team to start. The Jets were given an exemption this year for their team skillset.
If a trade occurs; however, where one team send 2 players in exchange for 1, then the team that acquires the 2 players will now have 8 players, while the team acquiring only 1 inreturn will be left with 6.
Thus, if a team decides to make a 2 for 1, 3 for 1, 3 for 2 trade etc., the ywill have to live with being short that 1 player, (or 2 players if it wasa 3 for 1 trade), for the rest of the season. Therefore, when a team gets shorted players in return, the ycannot simply go out of the league and bring another player into their team.
You can do this; however, if you decide to CUT a player fro myour roster; thus, placing him on waivers. If you place the player on waivers, that player can now join any team that wants him, even if that team already has 7 or even 8 players. I put this rule in place so that a team doesn't simply trade away a player for a draft pick next year, and then all of a sudden, they can bring a potential sniper on their team to fill their roster back to 7 players. If youtrade for one less player, you play with one less player throughout the season.
If you decide to go throught th process of cutting a player fro myour roster, you can add a player to your team. The player replacing the released player will have to pay the league registration fee no matter when he enters, although it has to be before the trade deadline.
If a team cuts a player after the trade deadline, the team CANNOT replace the player, due to the roster freeze in the deadline.
Going back to why can a team bring 8 players to their game, they can do so because they traded for the right to do so. A team CANNOT simply add a player if they have 7 players on their roster already. Again, this is the rule we started with this year. In the case of the North Stars; however, they claimed a player that paid his league fee and got cut by a team. Thus, if a player that has paid his fee gets released by a team, he does nto lose his right to play in the league. Thus, if teams are already full, they can, at their choosing, add an extra player to bring to a game if it is from the waiver list.
Hope this answers any roster questions. Feel free to ask me anything else if you curious and I'll do my bets to answer.

so what if a team puts someone on waivers and he isn't claimed... can they pick him back up even if they already found a replacement out side of the league?
