Who else agrees that this is the most important BCHL game until Week 9 when the Seals play against the Nordiques? There's a lot of story lines coming in to this game.
With the Sabres loss last week to the Seals, it looks like theres really only two front-runners now for third place, and its these two teams playing on Monday. Assuming both teams will have full lineups, its tough to say who will take it down. The Golden Seals have changed tremendously since Week 2 when they lost to the Whalers, with two key additions in Lietz and Baird, but is it enough to take down Hayden and Co., who have hit a little slump with only 1 win in their last 3 weeks ?
It's also going to be the Seals' first time with new goalie Baird in net. Whalers captain O'Neal had missed his week 6 game due to personal reasons, but is he going to be able to light a new fuel under this team, who appeared to play lost in their sub-par in effort against Scrantonicity?
Anyone wanna lay down any bets on the winner? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say we're gonna have our 3rd OT game of the year, and Whalers will squeak out the win.

Yes Crunk i agree this game could decide the outcome for the top 3 leading into the playoffs. I think both teams will be eager to go at it. Im going to have to give the edge to the Golden Seals. Coming off a couple good weeks and new additions to there team it seems they are clicking and workin hard as a team as of late. The whalers like you mentioned have been on a decline as of late, without the pressence of hayden the team doesnt look the same, but that coould all change in a hurry, we all know that. I do agree that this could be another close OT winning game, so my bet is on the Seals!

It's also going to be the Seals' first time with new goalie Baird in net. My bad, Baird actually put up a solid performance in the Saturday Night game against the undermanned North Stars. This will definitely benefit the Seals tomorrow when they play the Whalers because Baird and his new teammates will at least have gotten to play with each other once. I don't expect Baird to let up 6 goals on 15 shots like he did in the second period of last game either.

Lidds, you're correct on this one with the 1 goal prediction of the Seals winning this contest. Still a great game though. Props go to the Whalers for crawling back into this game in the 3rd and more props goes to the Seals for showing the league they deserve to be at least 3rd!
