how the hell is kelcey brade leading votes for week 6. 5 and 1 is considered a sub par night for a few of my team mates... maybe you should stop voting for yourself and telling everyone else to do the same... whata joke!

Haha ... I was leading the player of the week votes. to be perfectly honest with you all i voted for andrew.
I think the reason why people are possibly voting for me (not b/c of my looks) but the competition we were up against that night.
I think people may not feel inclined to vote for Blazers players for the simple fact they were playing the hapless Jets.
If Justin and Brandon played the Seals, Whalers, Nordiques, Sabres or even the North Stars ... racked up big points like that then I would vote for them.
Player of the week isn't about points to be honest its about which player helped their team to victory the most.
Just my .02 cents.

To be honest, I respect the opinions of all players on the message board and I aint gona restrict anything other than foul language. Having said that, Player of thWeek should be about how an individual plays versus there expectation for that game. For example, I'll let you all know that I voted Brandon Chancey as POW because of his 16 points as an overachievement of sorts. The Blazers; however, are expected to roll the Jets- no offense to the Jets. So seeing how Andrew put up solid numbers against the Scrantonicity without having his top player in the lineup, and Kelcey Brade leading his offensively stacked team in scoring, I can totally see why players vote for Gowan or Brade. Blake also had a greta achievement in 2 shutout periods, which could again be hindered by playing the Jets. Thats my analysis, feedback welcome!

yeah player of the week is just for fun obviously, but try to vote for who truly deserves it.....and yeah, you should factor in how close, intense and competitive the game is....i know we all can't watch every game....best stats is usually a good measure too...just depends how you value everything, up to you.
yeah honestly guys, i don't have the ability to delete posts...the line is being pushed and if its crossed my only option is to delete the entire message board and start a new one where i can delete posts.....
brewing up rivalries etc is great for the league in my opinion as a member of the '07 champion blazers......but my opinion as a bchl board member and webmaster is that we have to keep it real on here....church officials, parents, potential sponsors are checking out this site, and beaking doesn't look good....
yes kelcey brade back-checks the point man at center if that, but it does effectively break out the offensive when the puck turns over...but if he tries that against me n the blazers it will not work, our passing is light years ahead of any team in this league and we will find the open man and score........
the all-star friday night is going to be unreal, look for more hype on the site soon, it will be awesome, and the rest of the league and playoffs will be great too, i love the bchl...

Alright, in the spirit of a good debate, these are my thoughts, there are a lot of em but here goes...
I was at the LBC arena for both the Golden Seals/Sabres and Blazers/Jets game and it's tough to say who played better between anyone on the Blazers and Kelcey Brade's 5G 1A. If you want to vote for Brade, thats cool...you just gotta understand that a high Goals:Assists ratio is normal for him. He has the least assists of anyone in the top 10 in scoring, on a team that produces the 2nd most goals per game in the league and who shoots A LOT on net. So I kinda expect him to score goals and I definitely wasn't surprised 5 goals. Then again, it was against a stingy Sabres defense, so maybe it was more impressive, especially seeing as the Sabres goalie, Lowood, was better than I've ever seen him ALL season long, including the games against the Nordiques and Blazers. This is also the most goals scored by ANY player against the Sabres, so I'm sure that means something. Then again, one of Brade's goals was scored with 1 second left in an already-decided game. Brade's 5th goal really wasn't a critical factor in the game at all, but had Brade (or any of the Seals for that matter) converted on ANY one of their 3 powerplay chances, than maybe that could be considered a game-deciding goal. In other words, had Brade decided to hold the puck for 2 seconds, when they were clearly going to win the game, instead of shoot it (it was a good shot btw), then he would have finished with 4goals and 1 assist.....would those mere 5 points be enough to knock out 2SOP's and an almost record-tying performance by Bl. Chancey from the Blazers for player of the week honours?
I personally voted for the Blazers goaltender, Chancey. Even though he only faced a little amount of shots, he put up 2 SOP's and let in one goal that literally trickled over the line. As much as Brade's effort was pretty good, we've only seen 1 shutout, and Chancey was inches from getting only the second in BCHL history, so I gave him props for that 1 goal against performance 2nd best in BCHL history. If you want to compare between the performance of Narayan of the Nordiques and the performance of Chancey in their respective games against the Jets, you'll see that Chancey faced more than double the shots that Narayan faced and let in less goals. Narayan was unable to record an SOP in his game vs. the Jets, Chancey had 2. In addition, the Blazers had only 1 sub their matchup with the Jets, while the Nordiques had 2 subs. It was indeed an impressive performance by Chancey, any way you look at it.
Voting for Blazers F Wise and Br.Chancey wouldn't be a bad decision either, but its kind of hard to say whether those goals are significant enough against an inferior opponent in the Jets. The fact that the Blazers captain Cuthbert was not playing also indicates that those two players got more time on the floor, which was definitely a factor in their surge in points. I agree with Commissioner Sundar that this was more a stand-out performance for Br. Chancey than it was for Wise, but still both players worked hard that night. I'm not sure if you guys remember a few weeks back where Wise only scored 3 goals in a game against the Sabres...he isn't an automatic scoring machine. Ten Goals is REALLY impressive for him too, regardless what you guys think. Wise is my current vote for MVP through the first half of the season, but he has yet to get a player of the week voting. But this is in my opinion the most interesting thing. If we rewind all the way back to week 1, when the Golden Seals played against the Jets, Brade had 8 goals and 1 assist and was given player of the week honours. Week 6 comes around and now the both Wise and Br. Chancey get 16 points (10 goals, 6 assists each) against the Jets and people don't care?!
As for Gowan, he too put up a solid performance against an UNDERRATED Scrantonicity team. Sure the 6 goals were more than he would have liked to give up, but he still had a .902 save %, which is an impressive stat on its own for any goalie. Still, I don't see it as being enough to take down any of the 4 previously mentioned Player of the Week candidates.

Hey, guys sounds like I missed an interesting week of hockey!! I know everyone wants the recognition to be a "player of the week" however, I don't think it's really worth having if people are going to get so upset over it. It's not going to have anything to do with the awards this year, just so everyone knows! I like the idea of people discussing who they think are the best candidate but lets just leave it at that please! I do think justin wise does deserve some sort of recognition...........so I declare him player of the Month and Brandon Chancey the second place player of the month. Sorry Blake but you were 1 goal away from being the 3rd player of the month! Those are my serious thoughts just so everyone knows, seriously the blazers do need some sort of player of the week recognition, however, I think they have the best award right now, that being an undefeated record, I'd be way happier with that then a 4-2 record and one player of the week award!!!!!

Yaa it was a good weekend! I think people enjoyed it all together, everyone got some exercise and played hard! First of I would like to say nice work to the Golden Seals by making a trade before the trade dealine it was comin up pretty fast so way to get it in there. Hayden man I didnt get to watch your guys game and heard you werent there but I heard your guys played well and oviously got the W so congrats. I dunno as for player of the week voting and now I guess haydens got player of the month Which Congrats to J wise for first place and Br. Chancey for the runner up and not to forget the forgotten Bl. Cancey for a solid participation 3rd place for player of the month. Listen this league isnt about player of the week or player(s) of the month its about going out there and playin hard and tryin to come out on top. The only true way to get all that jazz is to get the respect of players and people. Some people I dont have respect for and I know they dont have respect for me, which I dont have a problem with its just the way things are. People that I didnt like at the start Im startin to get use to and slowly gainin respect for the them. So everyone cut the crap and the howling about dumb Sht about player of the week and player of haydens month. If you want it earn it, if you didnt get it go out and do it the next game again. Players know whats up and what went down and what is a good game and what is a bad game, Players know that if its that important to some people they get there whole family to sign on and vote for them. This is a great league and very competitive one, so when your out there bring the best you got and leave your complaning and sarcasim on the floor. As for that I look forward to having the first all star game and workin with other guys on other teams. Take it easy
