It's been an exciting season this year! Glad to see that in this final week of play that almost every position besides 7th and 8th can change hands.
Here's my predictions of how things will pan out.
6th: Sabres, no commitment and injures will prevent them from competing with the golden seals. 5th: Scrantonicity, will beat the jets tommorow...too bad they can't use call-ups in the playoffs.
4th: Golden Seals, the Nordiques defensive play is too good, they will grind their way to victory. (haha I hope!)
3rd: Whalers, they have a tough last game against the North Stars who seem to finally be playing well as a team. You just never know with that team! But, I think they can win and get some help from the Nordiques to hold onto their 19+ differential on the Golden Seals for third place.
2nd: This is a hard prediction I think that both the Blazers and Nordiques deserve 2nd place....ha I mean 1st! However I'm going to go with the Nordiques. I hope that the Nordiques win in OT because that would be great for their motivation to take the Cup.
1st: Blazers, they will hold on to get to OT, this will give them the leagues championship, again...Will their perfect record be wrecked just like the patriots? Will MVP Tom Brady (aka Justin Wise) have an off night? Probably not but the Blazers will have to come up with their best A+ game to beat the Nordiques. Blake Chancey will be facing the Nordiques for the first time this year. Can he follow up with another strong game. I'm guessing he'll be using his lucky grey sweater again. Will Lidkea be a healthy scratch for the last game? or has he opted to sit out for personal reasons?
All these questions will be revealed this week in the BCHL. I wish everyone good luck this week and I look forwad to the playoff predictions by crunk!
Post if you have any other predictions!
(these opinions are those of Hayden who is a Whaler so they are most likely highly bias...)

Lidkea isnt a healthy scratch, believe he chose to quit the team, thanks! haha I like the name! That sucks that he quit the team, it seemed like he was doing really well as of late... One sub for the Blazers now lets hope Cuthbert's knee can stay healthy or else they could be in some trouble!

hayden nice analysis! still waiting on some type of write up from crunk, too. three games tonight and i'm sure everyone can't wait to get these games under way. like everyones been saying there is still plenty to be decided. feature game of course is the nordiques vs. blazers game for first place; the two teams have not seen each other since the first game of the season and both teams are coming out with completely different line ups thanks to one reason or another. let the games begin!

Yes but I think today will be the day where the north stars upset the whalers and start their championship run, so that will be the game to watch!

it was 4-1 after one for the Whalers and I know they potted a couple more to start the second ... looks like the stars are putting their foot in their mouth

it was 4-1 after one for the Whalers and I know they potted a couple more to start the second ... looks like the stars are putting their foot in their mouth It ended up to only be a shoe lace! the Stars were down 8-2 I think after the 2nd period and they decide to put Shayne Russel in net and use a fresh Jayson Chong for the third and wow did that work well for them as the North Stars charged back to come within 1 goal. It sure was a game to watch. 10-9 was the final! Actually all the games tonight were very good games. The Sabres held a lead over the golden seals thru two periods, as Vic Sundar was incredible in net making some of the hugest saves I've seen all year in the BCHL! However, the Golden seals got the last laugh as they were able to generate some good offence in third and get the lead early. I think the score was 12-8 Seals with an empty netter. Finally the last game of the BCHL season....it did live up to the hype as it was a great game. Throughout the game it was a back and forth run and gun game. In the first two periods the lead changed every 5 minutes as no team was able to get more then a 2 goal lead. Early in the third period however, the Blazers, stepped up their game and got a few benificial bounces and they were able to take a three goal lead midway through the third period. It seemed as though the Nordiques were distracted in the later half of the third period, as the stakes were raised. Mike Zbeetnoff, was called for his second penalty of the game, and after his 2nd undisaplined penalty, captain Moe Sahib decided to relinquish the Nordiques rights to Zbeetnoff. So with 5 minutes to go in the game Zbeetnoff's Nordiques jersey was thrown from the kitchen onto the Nordiques net, and he was gone. The Nordiques seemed a little distracted from that point. It was almost as if they threw in the white towel on the rest of the game as they let Justin Wise come in on a breakaway for his league leading 105th point, with 3:43 remaining. At the 2 minute mark Allen Maclean was able to squeak one past Blake Chancey to make it a 3 goal game again but that was as close as they'd get as the game ended at 11-8 in favour of the Blazers. My hat goes off to the Blazers as they were able to wrap up the season with a perfect 10-0 record. Way to go!! The Nordiques will dust themselves off and learn from this game and I think they are odds on favourites besides the Blazers to take the BCHL Championship cup. They will have recently suspended Andrew Byfuglien back in the lineup and I think the team will put it all together in the playoffs. So with all that said the playoff pairings for round one of the BCHL playoffs are: 1st. Blazers vs.8th. Jets 2nd. Nordiques vs. 7th. North Stars 3rd. Whalers vs. 6th. Sabres 4th. Golden Seals vs. 5th. Scrantonicity Btw, the playoff schedule will be posted this wednesday at 2am EST. Let the playoff analysis begin!

[/b] there is no way a team that acts like that is deserving of the bchl crown. [/b] [/quote] Hmm, you don't think you're being a little unfair with that statement? The actions of one player on the team (Zbeetnoff) does not represent the whole Nordiques squad, and I for a fact know that the Nordiques are MORE than deserving of the BCHL crown. The Nordiques work as hard (if not harder) than any other team in the league, they are as talented (if not more talented) than any other team in the league, and I know one or two players have had a bad rapport in the last little while, but they are a d**n good squad. If you took your time to read/reread all of Hayden's statement, he clearly stated that M. Sahib, the Nordiques captain, was the one who booted his own player out of the game.
Even his own team knew his actions were out of line and he made (in my opinion) the appropriate move to ask him to leave. You're acting like the whole Nordiques are hacks, which is just plain ignorant. I mean, everyone is entitled their own opinion and I respect that, I just highly disagree with yours.
I do agree with your call that this league is just for fun, but I'm all for a little bit of competitiveness, as long as the competition doesn't lead to actions which are unacceptable. I'll offer an example: Yesterday Blazers forward J. Wise was battling up against the boards against Nordiques captain M. Sahib. Both players were being physical and competitive, but both had smiles on their faces and were loving it. This is the BCHL.
That having been said, the playoffs are just around the corner and the brackets are all set in. Things are getting intense as teams near the final stretch in their question for the holy grail--- The BCHL Cup. I'll make sure to drop an in-depth first-round playoff analysis for each match up in the next little while, but in the mean time I'd just like to give props to this last week 10. By far, this was the MOST competitive week. With the exception of the Saturday Jets vs. Scrantonicity game, all the games were really close and there were some definite possibilities for upsets. Unfortunately for some teams, all the higher ranked teams beat their lower-ranked opponents so there weren't any upsets. Still, I always wonder what would have happened if the Stars were able to generate a couple more goals to upset the Whalers squad. This would have changed the playoff rankings and dynamics (in terms of confidence). Even the Sabres put up a great fight with call-up goaltender Sundar in net, so that would have done wonders for their confidence if they took down the giant GSeals--a team that averages well over 6 feet in height.
And then of course, you had the final much-anticipated Nordiques vs. Blazers game. The first two periods were definitely up for grabs and things were looking dicey when the Blazers managed to pull ahead off of a "fluke" goal when a Nordiques shot somehow deflected of J. Wise and behind netminder C. Narayan. The second period was marked with good hustle as each team was virtually playing at the same level (each squad potted 3 goals), with the Blazers taking advantage of costly Nordique's penalties. The third period, however, was a different story. Hayden's comment was well said in my opinion.
It seems like the Nord's were a little deflated, perhaps both physically and mentally seeing as their normal 7-man squad was cut down to 5. This, however, shouldn't detract from the Blazers feats this season. Besides their perfect 10-0-0 record this season, they're actually 23-2-0 (I'd have to confirm with Commissioner Sundar about this stat) over the past two seasons. Still, that doesn't necessarily mean they will win 4 more straight come the playoffs...but more on the playoffs later.
For now, I'd like to give props to everyone in the league on a ridiculously successful regular season! It was a great job on everyone's part and I know everyone's looking forward to the playoffs to see who are actually the contenders, the pretenders, and the cinderellas (quote taken from NCAA March Madness).

Listen guys,
Its unfair to point out an entire team when the issue is really with one player. Anybody who wants to come out and say that kind of stuff about a team should come out and name himself rather than writing a name that no one can identify with.
It's unfair to a team that pays money (I don't care how much) to play in this league to have tha tkind of stuff written about them, seeing how they live lives like all the rest of us, and they could just as easily just stay home to their families or do whatever they do. I am definitely in support of the Nordiques playing in this league and I won't take that kind of crap being said of one of our league's teams.
I didn't see the Nordiques whining and crying after their loss last night, as a matter of fact, they were out with the opposing team sharing a few laughs as I recall, seeing as how I was right there.
Again, don't unfairly criticize a group of players if its just one that does the majority of the mischif. The Nordiques have some great guys on their team and I support their participation in the league 100%. Wish all the negative you want about other teams, but think about how you look in doing so.

Well put Vic, the Nordiques now deserve nothing but praise for their hard fought regular season and outstanding efforts towards supporting the league. Both on and off the floor Moe, Ish, Chris, Allan and Sunil are stand up guys. After our game last night both teams gave three cheers, shook hands and discussed the game for quite sometime; most discussion revolved around how much fun the game was, how much we respect the league and everyone who has been a part of it, and of course how we CAN'T WAIT FOR THE PLAYOFFS!!! I've never seen a team with such class after playing such a hard fought, exhausting game! Thank you Nordiques for the BEST GAME of the Regular Season. Let's all move forward with the league thinking only of a game at a time with the ultimate goal of keeping this league in the good form having been accomplished over this year and last. Good Luck To ALL TEAMS in the PLAYOFFS
